New parking plans to be drawn up for controversial Midhurst lay-by

NEW plans for coach parking in the controversial lay-by on North Street in Midhurst are being prepared by West Sussex County Council (WSCC)

Officers admitted an error had been made in the original plans for parking spaces in the lay-by.

David Hargreaves and his wife Angela led objections to the plans in front of homes saying they had safety concerns.

A spokesman for WSCC said: “New proposals are currently being developed.

“These will go through a statutory consultation and any objectors to the previous scheme will be notified.

“In the meantime officers have been assisting Midhurst Town Council and Chichester District Council investigate additional parking for coaches in Midhurst.”
