The newly refurbished unit provides outpatient musculoskeletal clinical area with inclusion of two new clinical rooms improving patient confidentiality, clinical space for podiatry clinics, a new therapy rehabilitation gym for inpatient neurology and rehabilitation, amputee patients and patients attending for outpatient neurology physiotherapy, a refurbished occupational therapy department and relocation of administration areas.
Karen Poole, professional lead physiotherapist for East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs both the Conquest and Eastbourne DGH, said: “This newly refurbished therapy clinical area will enable us to offer patients greater privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
“We will be able to have a greater flexibility of space available for patient’s rehabilitation.
“Also with the way the area has been designed there will be the added benefit of shared working and learning for our junior therapy staff.”
