New project setto make Bexhilla better place

A new project that is set to make the local community a better, more informative place to live was launched last week.

The project, which goes under the banner of ‘Better Brighter Bexhill’, is the brainchild of a partnership formed of Bexhill Town Team and Rother Voluntary Action (RVA) with support from Rother District Council (RDC).

It came about after feedback from the local community at an information stall at Bexhill Farmers’ Market indicated that people would value a local information resource.

Hillary Randall of Bexhill Town Team, said: “For some months we have been working as a steering group to launch a project which will help bring people together and be better informed about local services, events and issues, and facilitate community action.

“Better Brighter Bexhill is an information point for Bexhill’s residents and visitors. It also has meeting rooms available for community groups to use in return for a small contribution.

“It will support local organisations and businesses, help local people to be more involved in the community and continue to bring vitality to the town centre.

“We aim to support residents who want to help develop new services, new events and shape what is happening in Central Bexhill.”
