New restaurant opens in Rye

RYE’S growing culinary reputation looks like widening with the opening of a new Greek restaurant.

My Greek Kitchen adjoin’s the KettleO’Fish takeaway and is already gaining a good reputation in the town.

It was opened by George Angeles and partner and inspired by the success of Greek meze nights.

Raymond Blanc filmed at the Kettle O’ Fish as part of his BBC series and the Times newspaper supplement awarded it second best eatery in England.

George said: “My Greek Cypriot background and family recipes handed down through many generations, have created a deep passion for good quality food.

“With Andonis my chef, we have sourced every ingredient needed for our Greek cooking, from Cyprus and the Greek islands. Our food is authentic Greek cooking, which is cooked and baked fresh every day. Our customers like our fresh olive bread so much they buy some to take home with them.

“We will be introducing special Greek evenings with live music and traditional Greek dancing.
