It will have 45 seats and is being created out of a redundant room on the historic building’s first floor at a cost of £50,000-60,000.

Arun District Council planning officer Simon Davis has given listed building consent for the conversion.

He said the scheme

19th-century cinema’s Grade II listed building status.

His report states: “It is desirable to keep the listed building in an active use and in a use which continues to benefit the local community.”
