New seating is unveiled at Battle Memorial Hall

AFTER months of hard work and fundraising, an official ceremony marked the arrival of new seating at the Battle Memorial Hall recently.

The formal unfolding of the retractable platform and seating by Battle Mayor Ron Harris kicked off an evening of celebrations, which saw various groups which meet in the hall put on a show to entertain guests.

Battle Light Opera Group was first up, with members performing Flash Bang Wallop from Half a Sixpence, BLOG’s next show which will be staged at the hall in May.

A zesty Zumba demonstration followed, before new singing group, Local Vocals, showed the audience what it could do.

And there were more musical treats to follow with the Rother Community Choir, followed by a repeat performance from Local Vocals with Jezebella and a Fella.

Many generous Battle residents and businesses sponsored the individual seats.
