The last six months have seen the Observer Building’s transformation from derelict to a thriving community space at the heart of Hastings and St Leonards.

From Tuesday, March 15, the Observer Building Collective will be taking over the reins of the events schedule at the venue with the launch of a new community room and theatre.

“We welcome the new OB Collective who will be taking over the running of all events on the ground floor and gallery,” said Joanna Poulton, marketing director of Flint Group.

“The calendar will feature regular favourites such as bingo, karaoke, flea market and kids activities, plus a new exciting programme will be launched in the dedicated community theatre space.

“The Observer Building, during its temporary uses stage of development, continues to be a wonderful opportunity for the community to meet, learn, share, grow and get creative - just what we are all about in Hastings.”

The first floor gallery will host exhibitions and workshops from the local art scene and a new alternative community library will offer informal café, free WIFI, meeting space and information sharing.
