NEW TOP COP ON THE BEAT

A NEW police chief has taken over in South Wealden.

Inspector Claire Stephenson takes over the job from Inspector Bob Brown who has been appointed as critical incident inspector for the whole of the county.

Inspector Stephenson completed 16 years police service in the West Midlands, gaining a great deal of experience in Birmingham city centre and surrounding areas.

She transferred to Sussex in April last year where she has been working as a critical incident inspector covering the East Sussex Division until her transfer to South Wealden on February 5.

She told the Express: 'I am really looking forward to using the skills and experience that I have gained over the years to continue to move the South Wealden district forward.

'I also look forward to meeting and working with the community on my new area.'
