'In particular I have always seen the parish council support for our village halls as most important and I am pleased we have been able to meet their requests.'

Chairman Tony Seabrook added: 'Support for causes such as these is a very important function of a parish council.

'I am pleased that we are able to set aside more cash for our grants.

'Our support for Wealden Citizens Advice enables their very important weekly surgery to remain at Willingdon Library.'
