Two people were rescued by Newhaven Lifeboat after their motor boat’s engine failed two miles off the coast of Newhaven.

Crew were called to the six metre long craft on Monday July 22 at 9.37pm.

Newhaven’s Severn Class Lifeboat David and Elizabeth Acland headed to the vessel’s last known location where they found it anchored with the two people on board waiting patiently.

It was then towed back to Brighton.

Two members of Newhaven Coastguard team then took over the tow through the narrow pontoons to the vessel’s mooring.
