Newhaven Swing Bridge, which carries the A259 over the River Ouse, is set to temporarily close again.

The river crossing was shut for five nights during August as a £1 million refurbishment project neared completion.

East Sussex County Council’s highways department has announced the bridge will again be closed in October, but for one night only.

There will be a full closure of Newhaven Swing Bridge from 11pm on Tuesday, October 6 to 5am on Wednesday, October 7.
