Newick Country Market :will be open on Maundy Thursday not on Good Friday, there will be all the lovely fresh vegetables , flowers plants, and all the usual homemade cakes, savoury pies and many other Easter treats, So why not pop along and see what lovely things are on sale you can also enjoy a cuppa.

Easter Services: Maundy Thursday Holy Communion will be St. Peter’s Church Chailey at 7.30pm

Good Friday Contemplation at the Cross will be at St. Mary’s Church at 11am

Easter Day Holy Communion at 8am followed by Family Communion at 9.30am, if you should require a lift to church, please telephone in advance 722 582 Everyone most welcome to any of these services.

Newick Horticultral Society : will be holding their Spring Show on Saturday 2nd April in the Village Hall open at 2.30pm, this is always most splendid show with all the lovely Spring flowers , you can also enjoy a cup of tea with a good selection of homemade cakes. If you have recently moved into the village this is a great opportunity to see a great displays and meet local people .

Don’t forget: to put your clocks forward one hour this Saturday evening .I wish all the readers of this column a very happy Easter, fingers crossed that the weather will be lovely and warm, as I write this on Thursday 17th, the weather has been beautiful , I enjoyed the afternoon in my garden.
