HEATHFIELD has a new newsagents.
Selina’s Newsrack and Confectioners opened its doors to the public for the first time last Saturday morning. By Sunday it was doing a brisk trade in papers, magazines, sweets, cards and chocolates.
The shop is situated in the High Street on the corner of Streatfield Road. It is the town’s only newsagent, following the closure of Pipers last year.
Boss Robert Hussey from Eastbourne told the Express: “I just fell in love with Heathfield. I know we are going to be happy here. We will also be putting a few tables in the window so we can serve people coffees, teas and cakes. We’ll also be selling a few selected bakery products, plus lovely old-fashioned sweets in glass jars.”
In the future he’s hoping to persuade planners to let him put a table or two outside.
