Nick says go green

STEYNING, Upper Beeding and Bramber MP Nick Herbert met with the president of the National Farmers Union (NFU) in Westminster last week to talk about green issues.

The Arundel and South Downs MP met president Tim Bennett as part of the NFU's Making Green Ground Campaign, which aims to highlight the role of farmers in shaping the countryside.

Mr Herbert said: "The environment is an issue crucial to all our futures. I was very interested to see the role farming can play in helping us to secure that future."

Mr Bennett added: "Farming has a positive role to play in tackling the very real challenge we all face on issues such as climate change, waste and developing renewable energy.

"The NFU campaign, Making Green Ground, is pointing to a greener future."
