NINFIELD BOWLS CLUB: With the sun shining las week, Ninfield saw a win! The results are as follows: May 12 they played away to Alexandra Park but lost 70-66. Away once again on May 13 to Bexhill, saw a win of 63-73. Their second game at home of the season against Cross-in-Hand didn’t see them continue their winning streak, loosing 59-75. Sunday, May 17, the club had one of their most important events of the season - Ladies v Men competition followed by a chip supper in the club house afterwards.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in the villages on May 29 at:

NINFIELD FLOWER GROUP: On Monday, June 1, commencing at 7.30 p.m. in the Memorial Hall, Ninfield Flower Group welcome Sue Thompson with her demonstration entitled “A Few of my Favourite Things”. Non members are welcome at a charge of £4.00 to include refreshments. All flowers demonstrated will be raffled at the end of the evening.

NINFIELD PARISH COUNCIL: The next meeting of Ninfield Parish Council will be held on June 4, 7.15 p.m. at Ninfield Methodist Hall. All residents are welcome to attend.

HOOE OPEN GROUP: The next meeting of Hooe Open Group will be on Friday, June 12, at 2.30 p.m., which will be a cream tea and a general knowledge quiz. For information of the club’s activities call the social organiser Edna Wallis on 01424 842591 or e-mail: [email protected].

CHARITY CURRY NIGHT: Lorna Tomasetti has organised a Charity Curry Night to raise finds for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, June 17, at 7.30 p.m. The event will be held at the Chilli Tree in Bexhill, with tickets costing £20 each. ST OSWOLD’S GARDEN PARTY: An advance notice for your diaries - Saturday, July 4, St Oswald’s Hooe “Garden Party” at the Church 2-5 p.m. Hooe Silver Band will be playing, various attractions: Cakes, Plants, Raffle, Side Shows and of course Tea and Cakes etc.
