HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: The committee are delighted that the recent Plant Sale and Coffee Morning raised over £400 for their funds. They would like to say a thank you to everyone who supported the event and they hope your gardens will look lovely this summer.

NINFIELD BOWLS CLUB: The new bowls season has kicked off, which started with a open afternoon of April 19. Around 60 people enjoyed a tea in the club house, with 4 new members appointed. There is possibly more in the pipeline! Their first league match was on April 25 against Northiam. Despite having a lovely afternoon and the weather being pleasant, the club lost 84-58. A second league match was played on Sunday, April 26, away against Battle. Although the weather had dramatically changed from the day before; noticeably colder and wetter, an enjoyable afternoon was had by all. Unfortunately Ninfield lost 64-55.

CAFE CHURCH: Ninfield Methodist Church are holding their monthly Family Cafe Service this Sunday, May 3, 10.30 a.m. This will include children’s activities and breakfast. All are welcome.

CHRISTIAN AID: Childrens’s Face Painting, Activities & Coffee Morning will take place on Saturday May 9, from 10.30 a.m. - 12 noon at Ninfield Methodist Church. Do go along and enjoy the occasion which will be raising money for the work of charity Christian Aid, at the start of Christian Aid week 2015.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in the villages today, May 8 & 29 at:

Ninfield, Downsview (off Church Lane), 11.20 a.m. - 11.45 p.m.

HOOE OPEN GROUP: The next meeting will take place on Friday, May 8 at 2.30 p.m., which will be a talk from Barry Wilkinson entitled “It’s me again” (Reminiscent’s from the past). NINFIELD FLOWER GROUP: On Monday May 11 in the Memorial Hall, Ninfield Flower Group welcome Janice Mason with her demonstration entitled “Seasons Bounty”. Non members are welcome at a charge of £4.00, to include refreshments. All flowers demonstrated will be raffled at the end of the evening. COFFEE MORNING: A coffee morning will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 10.00 a.m. in The Methodist Hall in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice. In addition to coffee and conversation with friends old and new, there will be home made cakes for sale, bric a brac, a raffle and more!!! The hospice does a fantastic job caring for children with life shortening conditions and their siblings and families. Do go along and support this very worthy cause. NINFIELD PARISH COUNCIL: Ninfield Parish Council are holding their AGM and Annual Parish meeting on May 20, 7.15 p.m. at Ninfield Memorial Hall. Planning Committee meetings precede the full council meetings, starting at 7 p.m. All Ninfield residents are invited to attend. The agendas for all public Parish Council Meetings are posted on notice boards throughout the village and are also available on their website: ninfield.webplus.net.

EAST SUSSEX HEARING RESOURCE: East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre is a registered charity working in partnership with Adult Social Care to provide a no charge mobile information and advice service for Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people living in East Sussex. The vehicle, which is funded by the Big Lottery, is equipped to offer demonstrations of assistive equipment and hearing screening tests (if time permits). The mobile unit will be visiting Ninfield on Thursday, May 21, at Blacksmiths Inn Car Park, The Green from 10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. The bus is accessible to wheelchair users and representatives from both the East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre and Adult Social Care will be available to provide individual information and advice on all aspects of hearing loss.
