HOOE OPEN GROUP: The next meeting of the Club will be today, April 10, commencing at 2.30 p.m. at Hooe Village Hall when the speaker will be Elizabeth Downs giving a talk entitled “Assisted Dogs”. Visitors are more than welcome on payment of £2 and if you choose the become a full member the annual fee is currently £10, which includes two subsidised events. CHRISTIAN VOICES: Christian Voices, the Musical Drama Group, will be performing their next play in April. It is called “Malachi” and is based on what happens when the prophet Malachi meets Christian people leading unchristian lives. The play was written by Alan Young and the songs composed by Dave Chamberlin. Christian Voices will be performing at Ninfield Methodist Church Hall, on Saturday, April 11 at 3.0 p.m.

As usual, the admission is free and all are very welcome to attend. Refreshments will also be served.

NINFIELD FLOWER GROUP: On Monday, April 13, in the Memorial Hall. They welcome Lynn Carter with her demonstration entitled “Floral Fantasia Colourtastic.”. Non members welcome at a cost of £4.00 to include refreshments. All floral arrangements demonstrated will be raffled at the end of the evening. ARTHRITIS RESEARCH UK: On Wednesday April 15, the Arthritis Research UK are holding a coffee morning from 10.30 a.m. until 12 midday in the Reading Room, Church Lane, Ninfield. Non members, and New members will be most welcome. Contributions for Raffle, and for the Bring and Buy stall would be appreciated. Entry £1 includes coffee and biscuits! NINFIELD LOCAL HISTORY GROUP: The March meeting welcomed Malcolm Pratt, who spoke on “Strange goings on in the Sussex Borough of Winchelsea.” It was very interesting and entertaining looking back to the 18C and earlier. On April 16 they will be holding their AGM, followed by Kevin Gordon speaking on the “Lost Village of Tidemills”. They have had Kevin before and he always gives a very interesting talk. The meeting will be in the Methodist Hall in Church Lane Ninfield and starts at 7.30 p.m. Members pay £1 per meeting, Visitors £2 per meeting. For further information call Rod Ffoulkes on 893635.

HOOE HISTORY SOCIETY: Hooe History Society meet on Thursday, April 16 at 7.30 p.m. in Hooe Village Hall. This month they welcome Helen Poole presenting her talk entitled ‘Elizabethan England’. NINFIELD HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: On Monday April 20, the society welcome back Colin Page as their evening speaker. They meet as usual in the Memorial Hall at 7.30 p.m., and have a raffle and refreshments. Everyone welcome.

NINFIELD GOLDEN CIRCLE: The next meeting of Ninfield Golden Circle is on Tuesday, April 21, in the Methodist Hall in Church Lane at 2.30 p.m. They will have Julian Porter of the Bexhill Museum talking on Napoleonic Soldiers in Bexhill. For more information you can contact Jean Holmes on 212663.

PLANT SALE: On Saturday April 25, Ninfield Horticultural Society hold their Annual Plant Sale and Coffee Morning from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Memorial Hall. This is the time to buy from their excellent selection of locally grown plants. They are combining the sale with a coffee morning so please go along and meet your friends. Enjoy homemade cakes and coffee while making your garden purchases.

FIRST RESPONDERS: The Bexhill & District Community First Responders, who cover Bexhill, Ashburnham, Ninfield, Catsfield, Crowhurst, Hooe , Whydown & Normans Bay, will be meeting on Wednesday, May 6. This is at Bexhill Fire Station at 7.30 p.m., every first Wednesday in the month. If you are interested in finding out more please contact the Team Leader, Mike Dean on 07970024135.

NINFIELD FLOWER GROUP: On Monday May 11 in the Memorial Hall, Ninfield Flower Group welcome Janice Mason with her demonstration entitled “Seasons Bounty”. COFFEE MORNING: A coffee morning will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 10.00 a.m. in The Methodist Hall in aid of Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice. In addition to coffee and conversation with friends old and new, there will be home made cakes for sale, bric a brac, a raffle and more!!! The hospice does a fantastic job caring for children with life shortening conditions and their siblings and families. Do go along and support this very worthy cause. NINFIELD PARISH COUNCIL: Ninfield Parish Council are holding their AGM and Annual Parish meeting on May 20, 7.15 p.m. at Ninfield Memorial Hall. Planning Committee meetings precede the full council meetings, starting at 7 p.m. All Ninfield residents are invited to attend. The agendas for all public Parish Council Meetings are posted on notice boards throughout the village and are also available on their website: ninfield.webplus.net.
