HOOE OPEN GROUP: The next meeting of Hooe Open Group will be today, March 13, 2 p.m. at Hooe Village Hall. John Tidmarsh OBE, the well known BBC personality who for many years was a BBC Overseas Correspondent, will be telling the club about his life and times. On this occasion husbands, men friends and “Toy boys” are invited to join their ladies! JUMBLE SALE: Ninfield Flower group are holding a jumble sale on March 14 in the Memorial Hall. Admission is 50p/person. Doors open at 2 p.m. Lots of bargains, books, cakes etc. Anyone who is unable to attend but would like to donate please telephone Jennifer on 01424 892878 or take their donations to the hall in the morning after 9.30 a.m.

NINFIELD METHODIST CHURCH: You are invited to the Methodist Church for Mothering Sunday celebrations. They are holding a ‘Mothers Day’ all-age service on Sunday, March 15, at 10.30 a.m. - all families & young people will be very welcome.

HOOE PARISH COUNCIL: Hooe Parish Council are meeting on March 16, 7.30 p.m. at Hooe Village Hall. All Hooe residents are invited to attend.

NINFIELD HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: At their meeting on Monday, March 16, they welcome the return of Chris Jenkins who will be talking about his working trip to the Western Cape of South Africa. This is a change to the programme advertised in your schedule. Chris is a young, lively speaker so we should have an entertaining evening! They meet at 7.30 p.m. in the Memorial Hall, with raffle and refreshments as usual.

NINFIELD GOLDEN CIRCLE: The next meeting is on Tuesday, March 17, in the Methodist Hall in Church Lane at 2.30 p.m. They will have Barbara Strevett speaking on “Growing up in Hooe”. For more information please contact Jean Holmes on 212663.

NINFIELD LOCAL HISTORY GROUP: Those of you who did not manage to attend their February meeting missed a really good evening, when Chris McCooey gave a very entertaining talk with much laughter entitled Sussex Characters Wacky, Weird and Wonderful. Their next meeting is on Thursday, March 19, when they will have Malcolm Pratt speaking on “Strange goings on in the Sussex Borough of Winchelsea”. Having attended talks by him, Rod can confirm that he gives most interesting talks. The meeting will be in the Methodist Hall in Church Lane, Ninfield, and starts at 7.30 p.m. Members pay £1 per meeting, visitors £2 per meeting. For further information call Rod Ffoulkes on 893635.

FRIENDSHIP FRIDAY: Friday, March 20, 10.30 a.m. - 12 noon at Ninfield Methodist Church Hall. This is a new initiative and they encourage anyone, any age, to go along for a coffee and opportunity to meet new friends.

SPRING SHOW: Ninfield Horticultural Society are holding their Spring Show on Saturday, March 28. They look forward to your entries, and to lots of visitors from 2.30 p.m. in the Memorial Hall. FIRST RESPONDERS: The Bexhill & District Community First Responders, who cover Bexhill, Ashburnham, Ninfield, Catsfield, Crowhurst, Hooe , Whydown & Normans Bay, will be meeting on Wednesday, April 1. This is at Bexhill Fire Station at 7.30 p.m., every first Wednesday in the month. If you are interested in finding out more please contact the Team Leader, Mike Dean on 07970024135.

NINFIELD PARISH COUNCIL: Ninfield Parish Council are meeting on April 2, 7.15 p.m. at Ninfield Methodist Church Hall. Planning Committee meetings precede the full council meetings, starting at 7 p.m. All Ninfield residents are invited to attend.

NINFIELD VILLAGE SOCIETY: Ninfield Village Society are holding a meeting and their AGM, in the Reading Room, Church Lane at 7.00 p.m. on Tuesday April 7.

The meeting is open to all and they would like to invite anyone to join them who have an interest in helping to maintain the amenities of our village. After the AGM, there will be a brief report on the work undertaken during the past year and a discussion of future projects. Following a refreshment break, they have their guest speaker Julian Porter from Bexhill Museum, who will talk about the interesting archaeological finds made on the new Bexhill-Hastings Link Road route. NINFIELD FLOWER GROUP: On Monday, April 13, in the Memorial Hall. They welcome Lynn Carter with her demonstration entitled “Floral Fantasia Colourtastic.”. Non members welcome at a cost of £4.00 to include refreshments. All floral arrangements demonstrated will be raffled at the end of the evening.
