POLICE MATTERS: Our PCSO, Daryl Holter, advises that the police have received a report on February 12 of a suspicious Ford Transit stopping close to a skip in Hooe, looking to remove scrap from within it. CAD 0719 12.02.15 refers. The police have also received a report of a small blue/green car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa size, in the High Street area of Ninfield during the day time and evening of January 9. This car and its occupants were acting suspiciously. CAD 1603 09/01/15 refers. Lastly they have had a report of an attempted theft of a Landrover Defender in the village of Ninfield on January 12 at 19:53 hrs. CAD 1331 12/01/15 Refers. If anyone saw or heard anything in connection with any of these cases, please can they contact Police by calling 101, quoting the corresponding reference.

U18’S FOOTBALL: The weather has hampered the U18’s matches once more, with last weeks game being postponed again. The team are at home this Sunday, January 25, 10.30 a.m. on Ninfield recreation ground. Fingers crossed they get their first game of the New Year. They would love to see some new supporters.

MESSY CHURCH: Messy Church will take place again at Ninfield Methodist Church on Wednesday, January 28 from 3.30 - 5.30 p.m. It is especially for children ages 4-11 yrs. with their parent or carer. The theme this month is ‘Growing up with Jesus’ & the afternoon will include all sorts of creative activities, a short celebration and a meal together.

JUMBLE SALE: 1st Ninfield Scout Group are holding their annual winter Jumble Sale on January 31, 2 p.m., at Ninfield Memorial Hall. Entrance is 50p per person. Along with bargains, there is a raffle and refreshments. If you have any jumble you would like to donate, you are able to drop it off at the Memorial Hall on Friday 30 after 7 p.m. or on Saturday 31 after 8.30 a.m. Alternatively, jumble can be collected the week before by contacting Dick Creasey on 07970 559226 or Rosemary Cooper on 01424 892681.

FIRST RESPONDERS: The Bexhill & District Community First Responders, who cover Bexhill, Ashburnham, Ninfield, Catsfield, Crowhurst, Hooe , Whydown & Normans Bay, will be meeting on Wednesday, February 4. This is at Bexhill Fire Station at 7.30 p.m., every first Wednesday in the month. If you are interested in finding out more please contact the Team Leader, Mike Dean on 07970024135.

NINFIELD PARISH COUNCIL: Ninfield Parish Council are meeting on February 5, 7 p.m. at Ninfield Methodist Church hall. All residents are welcome to attend.

POLICE PANEL MEETING: The next Police Panel Meeting will be held at the Reading Room, Church Lane, Ninfield on 7.30 p.m. on February 10. The meeting will be to discuss Policing across the beat of our PCSO, Daryl Holter.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in the villages on February 13 at Hooe, opposite Denbigh Court, 11.20 a.m. - 11.45 a.m. Ninfield, Downsview (off Church Lane), 11.55 a.m. - 12.30 p.m. Please note the new days and times. There is no longer a stop at Coombe Shaw.

HOOE OPEN GROUP: The Hooe Open Group will next meet on February 13, 2.30 p.m. at Hooe Village Hall. For further details call Edna Wallis on 01424 842591.

PANCAKE LUNCH: St Oswald’s, Hooe, invite you all to a “Pancake Lunch” on Tuesday February 17, in Hooe Village Hall from 12 noon till 2 p.m. They welcome all comers, no ticket required just a donation towards the cost placed in the collection box before leaving.
