Ninfield & Hooe Village Voice - June 13

NINFIELD Parish Council: Sorry I cannot bring you any information about the last parish council meeting as I was unable to attend. Included on the agenda was a Parish Plan update, village green status and parking on the recreation ground. The next meeting is in the Methodist Church Hall on Thursday, July 3, at 7.15pm.

HOOE OPEN GROUP: This afternoon (Friday) the ladies meet in Hooe village hall at 2.30pm. A musical quiz has been organised for their enjoyment which will be followed by tea and biscuits. A very enjoyable time is guaranteed. For more information about this group please ring Edna on 01424 842591.

FARMERS' MARKET: Tomorrow (Saturday) morning the second Farmers Market is in the Memorial Hall, from 10am to 12.30pm. Please do not miss the wonderful food items on offers, including meat, pies and cakes. In addition you will find excellent quality plants as well as something for the family pet. The folk with things to sell hope for the same support from villagers as they enjoyed last month. I think it may be too late to book a stall but you can call Mark on 01424 893712 or 07970 144172 to find out more.

NINFIELD Bowls Club: Audrey, the vice-captain, called to give me the results of the club's last three matches. On Wednesday, June 4, Ninfield played Mayfield, Mayfield scored 57, Ninfield 74. Three days later, on Saturday, June 7, Ninfield played Herstmonceux. Ninfield were the winners by 101-85. And on Sunday, June 8, it was another home match for Ninfield and another win. Beckley were the opposition and they scored 69 but Ninfield managed a narrow win by scoring 70. All Ninfield members must feel good having had such a successful trio of matches. It would be nice if the weather continued to be kind, once again may the best team win.
