No chance of getting bored at the latest Stade Saturday event

Hunt & Darton bring their brilliantly witty stage-show to Stade Saturdays’ in their first outdoor performance of Boredom.

It takes place at the Stade open Space, next to the Jerwood Gallery, on Saturday September 5 at 7.30pm.

Cllr Dawn Poole Hastings Borough Council’s lead member for regeneration explained: “We are pleased to bring yet another free event to Hastings in the Stade Saturdays programme.

“Hunt & Darton are a Live Art Collaboration between Jenny Hunt and Holly Darton.

“Their work has been described as deadpan and absurd, often collapsing into humour and it comes to us after showing for a month at the Edinburgh Fringe.

As part of the Coastal Currents annual Arts Festival, Boredom. Come along – you won’t be bored!“

Experience raucous belly laughs and snigger to your heart’s content with a pair who have taken the country by storm with their recent UK tour.

Not your usual outdoor evening performance, granted, but a whole heap of something original you as part of Coastal Currents Arts Festival, testing the boundaries of outdoor theatre.

Boredom is an exploration into the highs and lows of being bored. Embrace it, combat it or simply acknowledge it, - boredom affects all of us at some time or other and Hunt & Darton find that rather interesting.

Bringing you moves, some wise words, while promising lots of visual stimuli in case anyone gets bored. Hunt & Darton think it’s a good idea to get bored and actively encourage you to do it.

Stade Saturdays, organised by Hastings Borough Council, have been running throughout the summer.

They continue on Saturday September 12 with a performance by Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou, musicians who have been compared to sounding like a cross between Fairport Convention and Fleetwood Mac by the NME.

Their fourth album, “Heaven Knows” produced by Ethan Johns is due for release this month. Stade Saturdays continue to October 10 and 11.
