The 16-year-old, from Horsham, had hoped to return to the competition after fellow contestant Tom Bleasby pulled out on Monday (October 12).

The X Factor has since confirmed the final place for the next stage of the competition has been filled by Mason Noise who lost his place after an outburst during the boy’s six chair challenge on Sunday (October 11).

A statement on The X Factor website said: “Following Tom Bleasby’s decision to withdraw from The X Factor, we can confirm that Mason Noise has been invited to take the remaining sixth place at Nick’s Judges Houses.”

Nathanael told the West Sussex County Times today (Wednesday October 21): “I had a feeling it would be Mason, it is a TV show and bringing back Mason got everyone talking about the show.

“I had an amazing time on the show and have no regrets. It was an incredible opportunity and I have gained so much experience and grown as an artist.

“I wish all the boys good luck for Judges’ houses.”

A campaign was launched on social media, which was supported by this publication, to get the Haywards Heath Sixth Form pupil back on The X Factor.

Nathanael said he wanted to thank everyone who had supported the campaign, which saw the hashtag #BringBackNat became one of the biggest trending tweets in the UK.

The former Oriel High pupil has announced he will be performing across the UK throughout this half term.

The locations for his tour include Burton on Trent, Cardiff, Kent and a headline gig in London on October 28.

He also hopes to perform at the The Capitol, in Horsham, next year.
