Norman faced stiff opposition in the third and final leg of Littlehampton and District Camera Club’s merit PDI competition.

He could only manage a second place, being beaten by Debra Flynn and her impressive black and white image of a pregnant mother being embraced by her lover. Lindsey Green was third in the final PDI, with her black and white shot, Becoming Landscape.

However, in spite of this, Norman’s previous performances in the other two events, held earlier this year, managed to win him the top spot. His image, titled Vatnajokull Beach, showed the dramatic ice flows of the Icelandic coastline.

John Raymond, of the camera club, said Norman had ‘consistently been placed in the top three’ and also won the Merit Prints section – the first member to do so in the club’s history.
