North Bersted residents are helping nature

Families have been asked to do one thing for nature in North Bersted this weekend.

A free event is being held at Bersted Brooks from 10am to 4pm on Sunday inspired by BBC programmes such as Springwatch.

This will give them the chance for many activities '“ such as mulching some of the 11,000 young trees and tidying the area around the pond '“ to help the wildlife in the area.

More than 70 species of birds have been seen there along with field voles, butterflies and wasp spiders.

Entrance to Bersted Brooks is in Rowan Way opposite the entrance to Halfords and KFC.
