Blue Cross: Well, all the ideas buzzing around for the Blue Cross have certainly got us all talking! It really does seem like a wonderful opportunity for us to have a real input into future plans for our village - we can only hope (and then we've all got to agree!!). Keep feeding any ideas you have into the Parish Office.

Quiz: There was a fantastic turn-out for the Bonfire Society’s Quiz on Saturday, with True Grit steaming across the winning line at the last minute in a close fought contest, brilliantly brought to us by Pete Sargent. We do like our quizzes in Northiam, and luckily, there’s another one on the horizon – the Conservation Society’s Wine and Wisdom Quiz will be on Saturday 21st January. Make a note in your diaries, and collect another 7 people to make up your team.

Badminton: Our two badminton clubs welcome players of all abilities, and provide all you need to learn or get back into the game. On Friday, the adult club starts at 8.15pm, contact Karen Ayling (01797 253375). The Monday club is run by Sue Clark (016797 253428) for one hour from 5.45pm. Both operate as drop-in sessions, so do just turn up and say hello!

Dance Club: Friday night is dance night, and if you fancy an evening sequence dancing with a friendly group of people, do pop into the Village Hall and see what’s on offer. The Club runs 7-10pm with a break for tea.

Messy Church: After a short break, Messy Church is back on Sunday, with (guess what?) crafts for Christmas! With songs and stories, followed by a tea, it’s a great way to end the weekend seeing the world through the eyes of our little ones. Everyone is very welcome to join in.

Nursery Nativity: The best way to enjoy Christmas is with children – so do join Northiam Nursery on Monday for their Nativity Service in St Mary’s at 10am.

Lost Sheep: One of my favourite new traditions in the village is the search for the lost sheep during advent. From Monday, there will be 20 knitted sheep hiding around the village, and the shepherd needs to gather them all together to bring them to the Crib Service on Christmas Eve. Help any children you know to find them and write down their location.

Line Dancing: Line Dancing is in the Village Hall each Tuesday at 10am. New people are very welcome - you don’t need any special clothing, and just comfy footwear. Sessions are £5, and there is a discount for booking ahead. Call Helen (01797 252087) to book a place or find out more.

Coffee Morning: Call into the Church Centre on Wednesday mornings for coffee and a chat at Coffee Stop, between 10 and 12 noon

Thursday Seniors: Thursday Seniors’ Club meets every Thursday in Northiam Village Hall from 10.30am until 2.30pm. All pensioners are welcome.

Church Services (11th): St Mary’s: 8am Holy Communion, 10.30am Morning Praise, 4pm Messy Church

St Teresa’s: 9am Mass
