Harvest: We celebrated Harvest on Sunday with golden sunshine shining through the windows, fabulous floral displays decorating the church and gifts of produce and larder staples heaped up to help those in need in the local area. Bonfire Celebrations: For anyone who hasn’t visited a Sussex Bonfire, you may wonder why Northiam’s Bonfire Celebration is on Saturday 24th October. This is because we form part of a 2 month long county-wide celebration, which isn’t specifically linked to Guy Fawkes’ Night. Visiting Societies in varied fancy dress, carrying flaming torches and accompanied by drums will march through the village, ending up beyond the cricket field on the Hastings Road for a great Bonfire and Fireworks. Invite family and friends over for the evening and enjoy a touch of Sussex madness on your doorstep – and it only costs £1 to get in!!

The Society is looking for volunteers to help with marshalling. If you could support this village event in this way, please contact Pete Sargent (253798) – you get to wear the coveted purple hi-vis jacket, not to be sneezed at!!

Cub Scouts: If anyone is interested in helping with the Cub Scouts, please contact Jacky - [email protected] or Peter - pvmurphy.freeserve.co.uk for an informal chat and perhaps a cup of tea / coffee!! You will be part of a fantastic world-wide organisation and enjoy giving young people a great start in life.
