Quiz: Once again the Conservation Society triumphed with a well-attended quiz on Saturday, with the traditional Northiam round checking whether we register what we see on a daily basis won by Over the Hill and Far Away! The final result was a draw between Whyknows and Northiam 8, with the raffle raising £250 for Help the Heroes. Not a bad evening!

Bonfire Society: Over £1000 was given to local good causes on Monday evening, when Northiam Bonfire Society shared out money from the Bonfire Procession. A good turn-out of members, helpers and supporters were treated to Alice’s hospitality in the Rose and Crown. The new year’s activities start with a Race Night to be held in the Rose and Crown on Saturday 21st February, and the first meeting of the year will be on Monday February 9th. New members will be very welcome.

Badminton: The badminton clubs meet on Fridays in the Pretious Sports Hall – 5.30pm Primary, 6.30pm Secondary and 8pm adults (14+). Adults also meet at 5.45pm on Mondays, and both adult clubs will be pleased to see new faces – just turn up. Juniors will need to call Pete Thomson 07815 842517 to check whether there are any spaces.

Dance Club: We also have a very friendly Dance Club meeting on Friday evenings in the Village Hall for sequence dancing. This is a very accessible way to keep fit to music, and meet people. Call Tony Pomfret - 253287 – if you are interested.

Plotters: The Plotters Association will holding their AGM in the Jenkins Room on Friday at 7.30pm.

Shortmat Bowls: Another choice for keeping active in the winter months is Shortmat Bowls- in the Village Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2pm.

Coffee Stop: Meet up with familiar faces at Coffee Stop each Wednesday in the Church Centre between 10am and 12 noon.

Library: Don’t forget our lovely library which is open each week on Thursday and Saturday afternoons 2-4pm with a wide variety of books for adults and children, also large print books and jigsaws on the ground floor of the snooker club, next to the village office.
