The Junior badminton clubs are taking a break for the summer but the adult club will met at 8pm in the Pretious Sports Hall this evening. I understand there will be some Play and Pay sessions organised by Pretious over the next few weeks – news to follow!

The Over 60s meet on Tuesday at 2pm in the Village Hall, and Coffee Stop offers a friendly chat over the cup that cheers every Wednesday in the Church Centre 10-12 – all very welcome.

I see that we now have Judo in the Village Hall on a Wednesday evening – a good addition to the sporting opportunities in the village. I dropped in on the Karate Club the other week, and was very impressed and quite tempted - until I remembered all the bits of me that don’t work!

The next Bonfire event is the Open Gardens, which will be held on Sunday 20th July. Six private gardens within a gentle walk of the village (surgery) car park will be opening between 11am and 5pm. It’s always a treat to see what other gardeners have done, and perhaps be inspired to try something new. Whatever, it will be a most enjoyable day, with the option of teas in the garden behind the Church Centre. Let’s hope for another scorcher!

The Village Remembrance Exhibition will be held on Saturday 2nd August and Sunday 3rd August in the village hall – 10am to 4pm both days.

On the evening of Saturday 2nd August the village will be holding a Commemorative Remembrance Concert in the village hall, an opportunity to come together to respect and remember those who fought for their country. The evening has a full and varied programme and will include the reading of contemporaneous poems and letters, and the singing of songs from the period.

Services (6th): 8am Holy Communion, 10.30am Holy Communion
