Well, we had a very good burst of village activity last weekend, with a fantastic Craft Fair in the Village Hall (what talent there is out there!) and a most enjoyable keyboard recital from David Ruddock. Thanks to everyone for supporting these events.

This Saturday, we keep up the momentum with the fantastic Showtimers’ The Fab 50’s & Swinging 60’s Show. All the great family fun we have come to expect from Showtimers. For tickets phone 01797 252395 or go hi-tech at www.ticketsource.co.uk/showtimers. Doors open at 7pm, with curtain up at 7.45pm. I’ve seen some of the preparations, and we are in for a treat!

If you can’t make 27th, there are further performances on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th May. Come along and have a really good night out, whether you remember those decades or not, there’s so much to enjoy. There will be a licensed bar and complimentary refreshments – and the Village Hall benefits.

Earlier on Saturday, 11am – 3pm, Northiam Nursery and Beckley Pre-school are holding a Spring Fair at Northiam Nursery school field (indoors if wet), with pony rides, bouncy castle, Peppa Pig, Live Music, BBQ, Barrow of Booze raffle. Come along and support our lively youngsters with fun for all the family.

Back to the week’s events in chronological order! Today (Friday) is the monthly Village Hall Coffee Morning Market – great for meeting friends and buying treats.

Badminton clubs meet in the Pretious Sports Hall on Friday evenings – 5.30pm Primary, 6.30pm Secondary, 8pm adults. New players are very welcome – learners or experienced, we hope to put you in a game to test you! Everything is provided.

Keeping up the fitness, the Footpath Group go to Bodiam and Beyond on Sunday, meeting in the surgery car park at 1.30pm for a 2pm start from Bodiam Castle car park – NT members, please remember to take your card.

On Monday Bridge Club meets in the Jenkins Room at 2pm, and Pilates at 6.30pm. In the Pretious Sports Hall, Badminton and Zumba are on offer to you at 5.45pm and 8.15pm respectively.

Wednesday brings us Pilates in the Village Hall at 9am and 10am, with Coffee Stop in the Church Centre between 10am and 12 noon.

Women’s Institute meets at 2pm in the Jenkins Room for their annual “Resolutions” meeting, to discuss which of the two resolutions members want to be put to the National Federation of W.I.’s AGM in Cardiff in June. Also for consideration, the proposed changes to the governing documents of the WI. There will be a Bring and Buy stall with all funds raised donated to St. Michael’s Hospice.

Karate Club meets in the Village Hall from 7pm.

The Village Hall is the polling booth for the County Council Elections on Thursday, so Thursday Seniors’ Club will be having a day off. Lace Making Group will meet in the Jenkins Room at 6.45pm
