Brickwall Music and Arts Society has relocated to the beautiful setting of St Ronan’s School in Hawkhurst where the first concert of the season will take place on Friday, 19th October at 7.30pm.  It is a programme of French and Italian baroque music for two violins by the internationally famous La Serenissima.  Call Terri Westerdale on 01797 253673 to book a ticket or enquire about membership.

The badminton clubs meet in the Pretious Sports Hall on Fridays. 5.30pm for Primary school-age, 6.30pm for Secondary school-age, and the adult club starts at 8pm. Dance Club meets in the Village Hall at 7.30pm for Sequence Dancing.

The Line Dancing Group are holding a Charity Jumble Sale in the Church Centre on Saturday 20th October beginning at 10.30am. If you can donate any jumble, please call 252087, or pop it along to the hall in the morning (before 9.30am). The sale is in aid of Oasis Domestic Abuse Service and Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary.

There will be a Karate tournament in the Village Hall.

Monday brings us the creative Writing Group at 10.30am, Bridge or Short Mat Bowls at 2pm and Pilates at 6.30pm in the Village Hall. Badminton is at 5.45pm and Zumba at 8.15pm in the Pretious Sports Hall. The Budgerigar Society meets in the Jenkins Room at 7pm.

The next meeting of the Historical and Literary Society will be on Tuesday, starting at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. Unfortunately they haven’t told me what the talk will be, but they are usually worth venturing out for!

On Wednesday, there will be Pilates in the Village Hall at 9am and 10am, and Coffee Stop will be brewing in the Church Centre at 10am.

And, goodness me, we’re round to the end of the month again, with the Village Coffee Monring Market next Friday in the Village Hall.

Next Saturday (27th), there will be a Nearly New Sale in the Village Hall 10am until 12 noon, with ladies’ and children’s clothes, handbags, shoes, hats and jewellery. Margaret’s the one in charge, if you would like to take a stall or offer to help (01797 253112).

In the evening, there will be a presentation of a series of interesting short films of various subjects, including local places and events, with music and commentary, presented by Seaford Photographic Society in aid of the NSPCC. Home-made soup will be served during the interval, and you are invited to bring your own wine and glasses to make the evening go with a swing.
