Concerto Cristofori aim to recapture the exquisite sounds and passionate musical expression of the era immediately after Cristofori’s revolutionary invention of the fortepiano, when the keyboard was transformed from an integrated ensemble instrument into a dominant solo voice.

Keyboardist Sharona Joshua will be bringing her own fortepiano, a copy of the 1795 instrument by Schantz, and her colleagues Stephan Sanger and Nia Harries will also be playing on period instruments, so the music is, appropriately, exclusively from the classical period.

Throughout the day, visitors of all ages can come along to the castle and meet the handlers with their variety of birds, reptiles and creepy crawlies, including Maggie the Vulture and Cleopatra the Owl, who star in the hit show, as well as dragons, lizards and even cockroaches! Those who are brave enough can touch, stroke or hold any of the wild creatures and have their picture taken with them!

Mark and Ben will bring the amazing world of nature to life as they teach visitors all about these fascinating creatures and their natural habitats, from the dusty planes of Australia to the mountains and tropical jungles of South America.

As well as the special activities visitors can enjoy the castle ruins and explore the battlements and towers, with their stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
