Novel new competition launches on World Book Day

Sussex primary school children could win a share of 5,000 books for their school, in a new competition launching today on World Book Day.

World of Books chief executive Stephen Boobyer

The competition, from the Worthing-based online bookstore World of Books, invites pupils to get lost in their favourite story.

With thousands of children celebrating World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite literary characters, World of Books hopes to capture their imaginations further by inviting them to draw or write themselves into a scene from their favourite book.

The top entries from all participating primary schools will be chosen by a judging panel from the company, with the ten winners receiving up to 500 books for their school and a personalised prize package.

Chief executive Stephen Boobyer said: “Every year we send millions of books to people all over the world, so we understand just how magical a good read can be.

“This World Book Day we want to help bring the excitement and joy of reading to an even wider audience, by offering pupils the chance to win up to 500 books for their school.”
