Numerous call-outs for East Sussex firefighters

At 9.42pm on Friday, February 26, two appliances from Uckfield attended reports of smoke issuing from property on Selby Road, Uckfield.

On arrival, crews confirmed there had been a small fire in the ground floor flat kitchen. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to confirm the fire was fully out and used a positive pressure fan to ventilate the area.

At 3.36pm on Saturday, February 27, one appliance from Wadhurst attended a chimney fire on Wyck Lane, Wadhurst. Crews used a chimney kit and thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

At 10:19am on Sunday, February 28, two appliances from Uckfield and Crowborough were mobilised to Wych Cross after reports of a fire in an oven. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was out and a positive pressure fan to ventilate the area.

At 7.31pm on February 28, one appliance from Heathfield was mobilised to a chimney in Waldron. Crews used a chimney kit to extinguish the fire.

At 04:33am on Monday, February 29, three appliances from Lewes, Barcombe and Preston Circus were mobilised to New Road, Glynde after reports of smoke issuing.

On arrival, it was confirmed that there was smoke logging to the basement toilet area of the building.

A thermal imaging camera was used to establish the source of the smoke and advice was given to the building owners.
