Children and their families came together at the nursery, housed in a detached Victorian house, to enjoy an afternoon of tombolas, games and other entertainment on Saturday, August 27.

“It was wonderful to see so many families come along and celebrate with us”, said manager Denise Franklin, who has been at the nursery for more than 20 years. “Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations.

“It’s very special to have children in the nursery whose parents also attended when they were young and to be able to celebrate all together.”

The nursery, in St Botolph’s Road in Worthing, has been running for 25 years. Maple Lodge can cater for up to 75 children, between the ages of three months and five years.

It features large rooms and spacious, secure gardens, situated in a tree-lined avenue.

“I am extremely proud that the nursery continues to thrive”, added Mrs Franklin.

Profits from the day will go towards developing outside learning areas and supporting one of the nursery’s practitioners who is returning to South Africa as a volunteer next month to work with vulnerable children.
