Explaining how the money would be used, a spokesman said: “Our vision is to provide a central hub where young people and family needs can be met under one roof.

“Our immediate aim is to make changes to our existing premises which will allow us to operate a full day care nursery independently of the youth club, allowing us to open the youth club earlier to provide facilities and support in the period immediately after school rather than only in the evening when the nursery has closed.”

This year, the Aviva Community Fund will provide up to £25,000 to more than 800 UK projects across six categories.

To vote for the youth centre/nursery project, log on to www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk.

The closing date for votes is Friday November 18.
