Derek Furlong, who owns the nursery with wife Vivien, said: “We have chosen now as the ideal time to re-invest more than £20,000 in a new outdoor play facility for our children.

“In light of the government’s new roll out for 30 free hours of childcare per week, for three and four-year-olds, we felt now was the ideal time to upgrade our facilities.

“Chappell Croft Nursery has been in our hands for nearly 17 years and has a loyal customer base that keep us busy all year round, so now it’s time to give a little back, along with a new ‘window on the pier’, which we thought was a fab idea. These two investments should be around, (like us!), for plenty of time to come.”
