Offenders targeted in Aldwick

Increased police patrols have targeted parking offenders in Aldwick.

The extra action by the area's police community support officers has covered Avisford Terrace, Aldwick Road and Silverston Avenue.

PCSO Nick Baker said: "Offences have been dealt with by fixed penalty notices and consideration will be given to repeat offenders being reported to court for the committed offences."

Greater coverage to the problem has been achieved by the additional presence of a PCSO from the neighbouring area.

The joint actions had resulted in a reduction in parking offences, stated PCSO Baker.

Illegal parking has also been the subject of action by the police in Rose Green.

Complaints were received about vehicles being left on the pavement at the junction of St Anthony's Walk and Nyetimber Lane.

Patrols were stepped up there in the past few months before a planter was installed at the location, instead of the originally-expected bollards, after contact was made with Aldwick and West Sussex councils.

PCSO Baker adds: "No offences have been noted since its installation.

"Our patrols will continue to enforce the parking restrictions."
