A community theatre group has cast the lead in its forthcoming pantomime.
Paige Lynam, 18, will play Snow White in The Crowborough Players’ presentation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which will run from Friday, December 11 to Sunday 13 at the Community Centre.
Paige, who has been a member of the group for more than two years, said: “I was so excited when I got the email to say I had been chosen. I squealed with delight.”
This will be the third pantomime Paige has been in with the group; she was one of Robin Hood’s Merry Men in its version of Babes in the Wood last year. She said that appearing on stage has given her confidence: “I was really shy but it’s brought me out of my shell.”
Currently Paige works part-time in a pub while seeking an opportunity to train as a dentistry nurse and a group of the pub’s regulars are reportedly making plans to see her perform.
Auditions took place on Thursday, September 3 and Sunday, 6 at the Community Centre. Previous pantomimes put on by the group, also known as The Crow Players, have included Dick Whittington (2013), and Cinderella (2012). For more details, visit www.thecrowboroughplayers.com.
