Old Town cannabis factory found

A COMPLETE cannabis-growing hydroponics factory was discovered in rented accommodation in Old Town on Wednesday afternoon.

Police acting on a tip-off found four first floor rooms of a semi-detached three-story property packed with cannabis plants being grown under high-powered lighting.

Investigating officers found a further two rooms full of cannabis plants in the attic.

At the scene, Inspector Martin Mann told the Observer that 560 cannabis plants had been discovered.

Tenants using false names had put additional locks on the doors before setting up the factory.
