Old Town Carnival 2007

A HIGHLIGHT on the Hastings summer calendar look set to be bigger and better than ever this year.

The Old Town Carnival has a new improved route for 2007, and large articulated floats are allowed back in, by popular demand.

Participation is expected to be huge, and the crowd of spectators even huger.

Entry forms are available now from Butlers Emporium in George Street or Morgans Builders Merchants in Coghurst Road.

From July, they will also be at Hastings Information Centre, along with Carnival Week programmes.

Police are reminding spectators of the on-street drinking laws in Hastings, and the dangers of throwing coins at the floats and participants.

The carnival committee is looking for marshals to help on the day. This could be in the morning, afternoon or during the event.
