Roebuck Enterprises is an innovative centre for adults with high functioning Autism and Aspergers.

Its mission is to provide training, skills for work, support and community and the centre has developed five strands of enterprise as the vehicle for this, jams and chutneys, pottery, Jewellery, crafts and graphics.

Attendees at the centre play an integral role in these new businesses. The market came about to sell the products and promote Roebuck Enterprises .

Anton Burton, who manages St Leonards monthly Market and town events, teamed up with Roebuck Enterprises manager Cecile Roberts to launch the exciting new venture for Old Town residents and for visitors to Hastings.

A vision behind the foundation of a regular market is to raise awareness of Autism – linking the Enterprise Centre and those who use it, with the wider community.

“It will also bring life to an under used yard at the heart of the old town shopping area.

“Anton Burton director of newly formed community interest company Sussex Concepts said: “We could see an opportunity working with disadvantaged groups and giving a platform for start up businesses, offering advice and support to work alongside traditional traders and local craftspeople.
