On Parade

THIS year s Ashington Festival and Flower Show was as big a success as ever, despite the threat of looming clouds.

Crowds lined the road to watch the procession filter through the village and the Herald s very own cheeky Hound joined in too!

The procession included floats, dancers, cheerleaders and even donkeys.

The popular event took months of dedicated organising, which certainly paid off, with not even the showers dampening people s spirits.

Beginning at the top of the village, the procession made its way to Ashington recreation ground, where stalls, bouncy castles, and fair rides were set up.
