Although the branch is based in Hastings, volunteers from across the Rother area also give up their time to help the charity.

As well as a healthy contingent from Bexhill, current volunteers also hail from Battle, Robertsbridge, Rye, Bodiam, Staplecross and Fairlight.

Last month volunteers marked the 50th anniversary of the Hastings and Rother Samaritans with a special event in Hastings town centre. Volunteers raised awareness about the work of the charity.
