SEAFORD Town Council has agreed to hold an annual charity open garden day in conjunction with local residents led by Geoff Stonebanks.
Geoff opened his award winning gardens ‘Driftwood’ at Bishopstone, Seaford for the last two years raising nearly £6,000 for charity.
After donating £580 to the Mayor of Seaford’s chosen charity, WAVES family support service, in August this year, Geoff decided to approach the town council with his ideas for a Seaford wide charity open garden day.
If the elected Mayor in The first event will take place on Sunday July 8, 2012.
More details of the gardens opening can be found at www.geoffstonebanks.co.uk/mayor.html.
Each year, the Mayor of Seaford nominates a local charity for which to raise funds during the mayoral year.
So far three garden owners have signed up to the event, one of which has never opened to the public before.
David and Mary Holland will open their fabulous courtyard garden in Kingsmead, for the very first time.
Carol and Ernie Arnold will be opening up their beautiful, peaceful and tranquil cottage garden in Firle Road.
