The organisers of an Open Gardens event in Peacehaven are appealing for people to open their gardens to the public.

The event will be held on the weekend of Saturday June 28 to Sunday June 29 from 2pm to 5pm.

Proceeds from the Open Gardens will go to a good cause - St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

It is being organised by Peacehaven Town Council and Peacehaven Horticultural Society.

Alison Standing, from Peacehaven Horticultural Society, said: “Last year’s event was a great success, with the money raised going to Care for the Carers Charity.

“This year the monies raised will go to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

“There will a number of gardens open, along with Peacehaven Allotments.

“The closing date to enter your garden in the great charity event is June 1.”

Toilets and refreshments will be available at a couple of the gardens this year.

Tickets costs £3, which covers both days and all the gardens.

Paradise Park in Newhaven is sponsoring the event again this year.

Alison added: “Please join us for a great charity weekend.”

The event was successfully held in 2013 for the first time.

Suggestions to improve the event this year included spreading the event over two days and that the timings should avoid the lunch hour.

If you would like to open your garden for charity contact Steve at Peacehaven Town Council on 01273 585493.

Tickets are available from Alison on 01273 589502 or after June 1 . Visit
