Opening ceremony at Hastings Direct

Rother District Council chairman Joanne Gadd is "very impressed" by the newly refurbished Hastings Direct.

She visited this week to officially launch the improved work area on the second floor of Conquest House but also to represent SASBAH, the charity for victims of spina bifida and hydrocephalus, which both she and Hastings Direct have committed this year to raise money for.

Cllr Gadd said: "My visit to Hastings Direct was inspiring. The management has improved the building interior and made vast changes for the benefit of the staff.

"The atmosphere in the building is excellent - relaxed, and a very happy workforce.

"The senior members are very much aware that the staff appreciate the changes that have been made.

"They have increased the number of staff by 80 new members, and this is only the beginning. There is also work being carried out to improve the fascia of the building, also a new canteen.

"This must surely be a bonus for Bexhill and Rother."
