Operationis hailed asuccess bypolice

On the afternoon of Monday November 11 officers from both forces carried out road checks on the A21 borders between Kent and Sussex. The operation was designed to disrupt criminals who use vehicles to travel between Kent and Sussex to commit offences.

Two vehicles were prohibited from travelling on the roads due to various faults and the owner will have to rectify the faults before the vehicle can be used again.

Two men were also arrested by Kent officers on suspicion of theft in Sussex, and were transferred to custody in Sussex.

A 32 year-old man from Sevenoaks was later cautioned for theft of metal, and a 24 year old man from Warlingham in Surrey was later released without charge.

Detective Constable Steve Hobbs from Kent Police’s proactive investigation team said: “This was a great operation in terms of collaboration between forces and sharing our respective knowledge.

“We gained valuable intelligence around the movements of suspects in the area and disrupted their activity.
