An unexpected visitor

I have long extolled the pleasure of shopping at the Country Market every Friday in All Saints Hall, Old Town.

Neighbours queue amicably chatting then, at 10.15am sharp, the doors open and whoosh, elbows fly as people head for the things they want.

Recently I bought some lovely daffodils. As I put them into water, out popped an earwig. Scream! And a second earwig somehow found its way into my fridge. Then some hyacinths were for sale.

These graced my window-sill but, as they faded, another plant began to grow.

Now I have some pretty stinging nettles. I shall make them into soup. Also there was a small stick in the centre, as a support. This has rooted and is now growing leaves but I have yet to find out what it is. I shall report again.
