Avoiding cold callers
I WAS sorry to read of the residents in Pagham and Middleton who had been pestered by people calling to do garden or roof work that had not been booked and was not wanted.
In this part of Elmer Road we have ‘No Cold Callers’ notices on our doors, headed ‘Police Notice’ and issued via West Sussex Neighbourhood Watch.
The police also, of course, advise fitting chains on doors.
The cowardly bullies that make these calls rely on the fact that decent, honest people are often not aware of just how low some people will stoop to make a dishonest living.
