Best foot forward

It's the middle of August and summer may feel a little like it is over, with all this windy and rainy weather. I feel certain, however, as with our British summers, there is still room for another quick heatwave blast before the autumn sets in.

With that in mind, my focus is on getting those toes to twinkle ready for another round of flip-flop wearing.

What better way to get your feet feeling ultra-clean and glossy than by starting with a decent foot cream. This week, I have been trying Burt's Bees super-creamy foot lotion with peppermint. providing triple treat against your dry, overworked feet. A botanical blend of oils and extracts made from witch hazel, tea tree, parsley, rosemary and sodium bicarbonate to help neutralise those nasty foot odours.

The peppermint oil helps to invigorate tired feet, while sunflower, wheat germ, and coconut oils nourish and moisturise rough, calloused feet and heels. with the final benefit of beeswax sealing in the goodness for a complete pampered experience. Available at a not-too-unreasonable price online or in your local high street.

This cream smells divine and really does make your toes tingle. You need to use only a small amount to see quick results - which means a decent-size tube will go a long way.

To finish off our lovely soft and nourished feet, we must turn our attention to our toes. I am loving Rimmel London Salon Pro nail varnish. With more than 40 fantastic shades to choose from, including new fresh colours straight from the catwalk, you are spoiled for choice. This nail varnish is up to 10 days chip-resistant nail colour with gel shine finish. The bottle includes a precision maxi brush for salon perfection! Which I have to admit is the best nail varnish brush I have used.

It claims to have all the benefits of a professional salon manicure. Strengthening base coat, top coat, and gel shine all in one. Which I am inclined to agree does work. I have truly found it to be long-lasting and it definitely does not fade after a dip in the pool or a stint in the sun.

At a great affordable price of under £5, and with many places offering three for two, what is not to like!
